Questions regarding the 3d Visualizer

Post by swangletang »

I'm a little bummed I spent the extra $ to get this but can't seem to really get it working.

1st question: Is there some sort of specs needed on the CPU to run this? When I use the preloaded file from Wolfmix, it is very lagged. I do have a cheap CPU so this might be the issue?

2nd: I'm having a really difficult time placing the lights where they need to be. Is there some sort of trick to do this? Are there keyboard shortcuts I can use? Using my mouse and trying to move fixtures has been incredibly annoying.

3rd: I can't find all the fixtures I use in the 3d visualizer. For example, I have 2 Rockville Rock Beams, and they are nowhere in the list.

Hello!

Thanks for raising this thread, I'll try and help you out on each point separately below.

1) There are no 'specs' required, but of course the beam generation can be heavy when you have a lot of fixtures. This can often be improved in a few ways:
- Reduce the window size
- Go to the Settings screen and disable either the AntiAliasing and/or the Shadow settings
- Use the Low Rendering Quality from the Settings screen

2) The most useful way of setting your positions is to use the 'Properties' tab when in build mode (found directly below the Objects tab). You can input exact values for position, rotation and scale. It is also sometimes helpful to use the Positions wizard to align multiple fixtures at once into a shape (I often find using the 'Spacing' option most helpful when using the Positions wizard, so I can set exact spacing values- i.e. set 4 moving heads into a line with 75cm space between each one).

3) If there is a fixture that you can't find in the EasyView library, you can add it to your software via the following steps:

- Go to store.wolfmix.com/ssl
- Search for your fixture
- Download the relevant .ssl2 file
- Open your computer's file directory
- Find the EasyViewConnect folder, then open the ScanLibrary folder
- Find the desired brand folder, then open it
- Drag & drop the attached .ssl2 file into the brand folder
- Restart EasyView

Kind regards,
Will
