Multiple USB midi devices update?

Post by swangletang »

The new update is pretty great, but now I’m ending up with a lot of presents I want on a midi player for easy access. I try to keep all my presets that I use on the midi player so I have easy access to the live edits and effects controls. The best way to do that, I think is adding another midi player, doubling my buttons.

Is there a device I can use to make this happen? I remember another recent thread talking about this but didn’t see an update.

You won't find a MIDI controller with 20 pads.

They always come with a matrix of 16 pads, so just choose wisely.

This is my goal: https://ibb.co/fzsCkRxD

This will give me 192 presets at my fingertips, allowing me to use the controller for live edits, effects etc

The akai apc mini was very easy to plug and start mapping but can’t seem to get the launchpads to work.

You have your answer in the description of the 2.0 update:

- Filter a specific MIDI Port on a mapping, allowing for multiple controllers to be connected via a USB MIDI hub.

Hello,

We have managed to use multiple MIDI devices simultaneously using this exact MIDI hub device: www.doremidi.cn/h-pd-92.html.

It has 4 ports for USB-MIDI devices, as well as 6 MIDI-DIN inputs, allowing for up to 10 devices to be controlled through this one hub.

Here is an extract from our FW developer, who was testing this setup whilst working on the 2.x FW:

"I’ve recently been playing with this device, which allows for 4 USB MIDI devices and 6 MIDI DINs to be connected to the Wolfmix. FW 2.0 will be required to get full use out of it as it exposes itself as 10 MIDI ports which I realised wasn't working perfectly in the current FW, but I’ve been having fun playing with a MIDI clock device, a synth, and two APC MINIs simultaneously. I’ll make a video once the FW is available."

I have the doremidi device on the way and will let you know how this works out.

I have a Pioneer mixer DJM 850 with a DIN midi connector, can I use a DIN/USB cable to connect to the Wolfmix USB A socket to have the auto BPM? I prefer avoid to use the Ableton function!!
