MIDI/DMX Mapping for Live Edits

Post by manu »

I've been testing the new update extensively for several days now and it's really great. It offers so many more options and expands the possibilities of the Wolfmix enormously.

Nevertheless, I would still request a function that would improve and simplify my work with the wolfmix.

Is it possible to map individual live edits directly via MIDI/DMX? The new mapping setting is really great and clear, it would be perfect if you could add the option to map live edits directly.

I control the lighting for my band as an active musician live on stage while playing. I use a DMX foot pedal for this. I trigger many highlights and effects with a live edit, as there is no other option or it is simply convenient to create a desired setup via live edit.
But I also use live edits in presets (e.g. for prism, color wheel etc).

If I now save a preset without Move, Color and Beam FX in the new firmware and map it via DMX, it always triggers ALL live edits and gobos. This means that if I only activate the one desired live edit and trigger the preset with the foot pedal, it deactivates the live edits that are actually saved in the current running preset.

Yeah I really would love to have the option to midi map live edit buttons!! This would be more than amazing for especially flash live edits!

To put the wished live edits on a midi controller takes the step away to first go to the live edit page. than you could just acces them easily! Would be a great addition! 👌🏼

Yup, at times I actually think the midi mapping for live edits would be MORE useful than presets.

And it would be perfect if you could set a fade for live edits, like with presets ;)

What also would be so nice is to be able to midi map the speed of an effect so for the colour, move & beam to a seperate fader.

The fade to a midi mapped live edit would be a win for sure!

Is this even a remote possibility in the future? Wondering if I should invest in Chamsys or keep using Wolfmix. Especially when the solution is a firmware update. A solution like this would change everything.

Can you make any live edit, also a preset? I know it's not exactly the same as the live edit goes on top of whatever is happening at the moment but if you can capture that entire scene and make it a preset, it's the same idea, no? Just trying to think outside the box here.
