V2 Fixture Issue

Post by cheesestud7 »

Firstly, the new update is amazing, thank you so much.

I’m on 2.0.2, and I’m having an issue when I load “Chauvet SlimPAR Q6 USB,” it causes issues in another fixture. Specifically it keeps channel one (the dimmer) on the first fixture at DMX value 0 (even if that fixture should be active, based on my programming), see the picture of my DMX values. If I delete the SlimPAR fixture, then my first listed fixture behaves normally (channel one appropriately goes to a value of 255).

It doesn’t seem to matter what fixture is first in my list. Currently I have Chauvet WashFX, but I even tried other fixtures in the first position, and if I add SlimPARs it always keeps the first channel of the first fixture at DMX value 0.

I tried nudging all fixtures so they start at DMX address 002, and it still has this problem.

Also, if I hit the Flash button on the Home Screen, then the first fixture does activate (meaning that channel one dimmer must turn on).

This is from a clean install of V2.0.2, I did not load in any V1 projects.

It almost seems like the “Chauvet SlimPAR Q6 USB” fixture profile has a bug. I tried deleting it and adding it back, and it still does it. This fixture worked fine in Wolfmix V1.

See attached photos for my fixture list. Image[/img]

Thank you!

Hello!

Thanks for raising this thread! I can't see any particular issues on these profiles, nor can I reproduce the problem myself. Would you please be able to do the following:

- Save your Project (Settings > Projects > Save)
- Go to WTOOLS > Projects > Backup
- Confirm the name of your project file, so I can find it and test myself
- Send over a video demonstrating the behaviour (you may need to use a file sharing service such as Google Drive or WeTransfer.com)

Kind regards
Will

Had the same problem with "Expolite Tourwash 91" or "Showtec Expression 33000 Zoom" first channel are always "0", but not with Colorwheel based Heads, i tried several things, like reupdate to 2.0.2 and factory reset, but nothing helped.

found a quick solution, deletet the first fixture and added it again as a single fixture in the group, then it worked.

when I load a old project with the heads inside it works, but if I add new color wheel based heads to the project and edit the ranges it will output 0 on first heads first channel

Hi,

I ended up loading in a “Chauvet SlimPAR Q12 USB” fixture profile, since that has the exact same 9 channels as the SlimPAR Q6, and it’s working perfect with my lights.

So it still seems the “Chauvet SlimPAR Q6 USB” profile file is corrupt, or something. But I’m all good now, so I’m not going to pursue it further.

Thanks!

Hello all,

Thanks for your collective help. In fact, the problem looks to only occur when patching in multiple fixtures at once- but only with certain fixtures! It's a strange one, but we are now able to reproduce- which is a big step towards resolving the issue. It's now been reported to the devs to look into :)
