I can't believe it. I bought a second Wolfmix WMX1 so that I could make two individual groups of lights do two separate things. So now the new upgrade, had I waited a few months, is going to do that! Well there's over a thousand dollars down the drain. I could have bought some additional fixtures. OH well. I'm still excited about the updates. Now it's like I own 4 WMX1. I'm really going to be able to see double.

I for one am extremely excited about this new update. I remember when the firmware was still at 0.9 version. I’m really grateful to all the developers for continuing to support the device and the hardware, especially in the current market trend to pump out cheap out products as fast as possible.

I’ve greatly enjoyed my WMX1 for 3 years now. This update is going to be an absolute game changer. Period. Double fx engines has been the single biggest request since the launch of the product. Doubling all the presets and live edits is huge. I’ve always thought it’s strange to have storage for 4000 fixture profiles when most of us use 4 to 6 types at a time.

The update really gives me a happy feeling that the team behind wolfmix does listen and does care about continuing to make the best product on the market, in its price range. I always tell people that are interested that this product is doing 90% of what an MA console does at way less than 10% of the cost. Preset stacking is going to make this operate more like a professional console.

I understand that there is a small contingent of folks who wish the midi could do more. I think some of you need to take a breath and check your attitude toward the developers. These guys are working hard to give you a free update, that they don’t have to do, and yet I see posts accusing them of misinformation and “ doing things we we didn’t ask for”. There’s lots of folks digging this product. Maybe, just maybe, it ain’t for you. There’s plenty of options out there. Most of them have free software. Some will even let you hook up your precious midi pad. In the meantime I’d like to see some thanks for positivity for this huge new firmware update, as well as announced continuing support. I personally still have a few feature requests but I’m not going to complain if it doesn’t happen. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Looking forward to this massive update!
We all must realise that we're getting more features free. All my previous DMX controllers had absolutely zero upgrades in their lifespan.
Here we have a product where we can communicate directly with the developers, pretty cool if you ask me.

The current version is already packed with features but the fact now that FX engines are for all groups the same, is for me the biggest drawback.
Second are the lack of live edit pages.
But this is all going to change as I understand.

Something I didn't hear or read until now , is the possibility to temporarily cut out groups.
I have 4 sets of lights. According to the venue I set up all of them or one or two less. I would be very convenient that I could just exclude those groups AND of course the FX engines should only address those lights and recalculate, it should forget the others.
Yes I could do that manually each time I change presets but that's not handy at all.
If I could only adjust the amount of groups once and then go ahead, that would be very nice.
I know, I could copy projects a few times and each time alter the group combinations. But If I make changes afterwards I have to make them in all projects, also a lot of work.

Maybe the same experiences have come across with others?

Good Morning Wolfmixers! I too looked for the 2.0 update this morning. (After looking every morning in late February)
I’m hoping to use it at a show next weekend and am rolling the dice to see if it pops up in just a couple more days.
Like you, I’m hungry for this update and look forward to all the new possibilities!
Keep your smiles on as they prepare this beta for us to chew on!
It’s gonna be so awesome when it hits!
Just a positive vibes message!
Have fun out there!
Peace out!

The unveiling and related marketing hit Barcelona last month (feb 4-7) along with the post to the forum Feb 4. The advertisement said the Beta would be available in a few short weeks (4 weeks have passed now) but I never did see an actual answer to the original question of this post. Is the new Beta available next week, March 5th, March 8th? March 15th? Or are we talking a few short months? As reasonable expectations are set and existing users plan on their implementation and maybe converting existing projects over, are there any instructions or guidance about how to make the most of this new, exciting (maybe one of the most substantial ones yet?) releases. Are old projects forward compatible with the new Beta? If users have invested significant time and resources with prior versions is there anyway to salvage some of that work. This is not meant to dissuade or take away from all the work that went into this. This should be a joyous release and major good news but you guys have not sometimes been great at managing communications, expectations and helping your customers work best with what you have provided. I also saw some of the comments on Midi and I am not the forum representative for all things Midi but I have arguably been one of the most outspoken on Midi. I could be wrong but I believe that this release may provide much more Midi relief than your customers recognize because of the way that this is being communicated. The combination of Flash Midi for Global functions, stacking of presets and the sheer volume increase of presets and live edits may provide much more Midi capabilities than this community is understanding. Again, I don't speak for everyone, ie there are other Midi concerns that I have read on this thread and my own threads, but I think (IMHO) that there is a large opportunity to solve a great number of the prior MIDI concerns if this is communicated correctly.

Sounded like they were aiming for early March. We're now in early March and I am hopeful it's in the next few days, as I have one of my lighting setups literally setup and waiting to go! haha Have a dead next two weeks and then it's absolute craziness and I'm ready to work on some new shows to look amazing for the upcoming gigs! : )

Very excited for this update!! Huge! Just found out about it today so I hope I don’t have to wait for to long but I’m glad they are testing it firmly before releasing it cause we don’t want something that isn’t working properly.

Thanks team!

I'm also pretty excited about the upcoming FW2.0 and don't want to disappoint someone here, but it is industry standard, that you advertice and announce new updates and features long before the release. Sometimes due to fixed schedules (fairs, exibitions), but also to create some interest or even a hype before the release. And it looks like there were quite successfull.

So I would not count, that it will be launched within the next days or weeks. Of course they don't say, it will come in Q3....
Besides that, they will release just a Beta versions. And in contrast to the latest betas, where have been not tremendous changes in the overall design and features, this one will be huge. So there will be fore sure a lot of bugs within the first weeks.
So everyone who thinks, he can just udpate the FW and go on a gig 2 days later, should be really carefull. There is a high probability, that it might crash or some features will not work 100% like intended.

This is no bashing against Nicolaudie, it is completely normal and the same for each product, independend from the manufacturer. Noone would do a OS upgrade or of Serato at the launch day and go out for a gig the next day.
