I've just bought a couple of the really cheap Betopper Mini Moving Heads, model LM70 or LM70s.
Is there a profile available for these? Tried a couple from the Big Dipper section, but none seem to work. Then tried creating a profile from scratch and not getting anywhere.
I want them in 9 channel mode:
Channel 1 Pan 0-255
Channel 2 Tilt 0-255
Channel 3 Master Control 0-8 Light Off, 8-135 Dimming, 136-240 Strobe, 241-255 Power On/Off
Channel 4 Red LED Dimming 0-255
Channel 5 Green LED Dimming 0-255
Channel 6 Blue LED Dimming 0-255
Channel 7 White LE Dimming 0-255
Channel 8 Motor Speed 0-255
Channel 9 Reset 150-200
Not sure how to program some of these channels, I think that's the problem.
Thanks for any help!
Betopper LM70 Fixture Profile
Re: Betopper LM70 Fixture Profile
Hello,
Thanks for raising this thread! I have just checked and the 'Big Dipper' brand profile named 'LM70' does appear to match your description of each channel, so this should work fine for you. The only potential issue I can see is with the Master Control channel which won't allow you to use the Strobe function. This can be set up however within your project via the following steps:
- Go to Settings > DMX Values > Settings (Beam Editor)
- Select the fixture using the first encoder
- Select the 'Strobe' feature using the second encoder
- Press in the second encoder and set the channel value to 3
- Set the DMX Min value to 136
- Set the DMX Max value to 240
- Set the Off value to 136
- Set the On value to 240
This should then configure the Strobe function correctly for you!
The only other thing that I can see potentially being an issue is if the 'Power On/Off' function needs to be called before the fixture can begin responding to DMX. If you notice that nothing on the fixture is working, you can create a Live Edit (https://wolfmix.com/support-content#live_edit) and set the value of Channel 3 to between 241-255. You can then activate this Live Edit in order to turn on the fixture.
Kind regards,
Will

Re: Betopper LM70 Fixture Profile
That's kind of working, but I'm a bit confused about how to work with live edits. Without doing the end bit you recommended I don't get a constant beam , the lights are on a slow strobe. Can change colour etc.
If I add the live edit, then I get a constant beam, but if I then pull up a preset, the lights revert to the slow strobe, I can't add them as constant beams to the preset.
I think I need to swot up on live edits, I'm not really grasping how they relate to presets and which should be used when.

Re: Betopper LM70 Fixture Profile
Edit Live Edit again: hold SHIFT button and select your Live Edit. Click on the little "lock symbol" at the top (turns button to blue). Now the Live Edit will stay active, even when changing Presets
