Move effects relative to position

Post by Brekhof »

I would like to have the move effects relative to a given position.

In other words "define" the "middle" or "zero point" of a pattern.

Maybe this is possible already... if so, how do you achieve it?

Otherwise... how do you work with the move effects to get them exactly where you want them?

"small variants" of the positions can be accomplished when using the "green pads" in the center of MoveFX. They refer to the "center position" set in the Fixture Limit boundaries when adding the Moving Head in Fixture Setup.
Press above the 4 green button, and the pattern moves a bit more upwards, press below, it move a bit more below, equally left, right, bottom left, upper right etc.
It also can help to setup your Moving Heads already a bit lower or higher with the Fixture Limit boundaries, so this then will be the new (lower or higher) "center". However, there will also be mechanical limits of how low or high a Moving Head can point its beam.

To combine position and movement effects would be a great feature, as most lighting controllers offer this functionality. Is that some how possible in the new firmware? E.g. with two presets? Preset 1 has only position stored, Preset 2 has only movment stored.
