Fixture Problems Beamz MHL832

Post by myrenz »

I am currently experiencing issues when trying to control my Beamz MHL 832 moving heads with the Wolfmix controller. Although I have selected the appropriate fixture profile, the only functions that seem to work are the strobe and blackout effects. Unfortunately, I am unable to control movement (Pan/Tilt) or other functions like color and gobo.

Hello,

Thanks for the report! I have just checked this profile and can see what is causing these issues. Regarding the movement of the fixture, the reason that there is no effect in the current version is that the fixture uses Rotation (X and Y) rather than Pan/Tilt, which is the only form of movement that the Wolfmix officially supports.

I have created for you an edited version of the profile which should hopefully work better. Please follow these steps in order to add this to your controller:

- Install the .zip file attached here
- Extract the .ssl2 file from the .zip
- Go to profile.nicolaudiegroup.com and sign in to your Cloud account
- Press the import button (top right corner, a symbol of a Cloud with an up arrow)
- Drag and drop the .ssl2 file
- Press Upload, then Continue

- Go into WTOOLS and connect your controller
- Go to the Fixtures tab in WTOOLS
- Find the uploaded fixture within the Cloud category of the Computer list
- Right click and select 'Sync'

- Go into your Wolfmix fixture library
- Find the Cloud brand
- Patch in the edited fixture

IMPORTANT: To work around the rotation issue described in the first part of my message, you will need to set a movement limitation for this fixture. To do this:

- Select the fixture in the patch list
- Press the limitations button
- Reduce the 'Max pan' to 50%
- Reduce the 'Max tilt' to 50%

This should now work much better for you! If you have any issues please do let us know.

Kind regards,
Will
