How to rename a single fixture name?

Post by rkra »

Hello,

after splitting a 8 lights / segment Light Bar into single lights ( to change the order they are hit by effect later) a see

061: Giga Bar -1
062: Giga Bar -2
063: Giga Bar -3
064: Giga Bar -4
065: Giga Bar -5
066: Giga Bar -6
067: Giga Bar -7
068: Giga Bar -8

069: Giga Bar -1
070: Giga Bar -2
071: Giga Bar -3
072: Giga Bar -4
073: Giga Bar -5
074: Giga Bar -6
075: Giga Bar -7
076: Giga Bar -8

I have 10 of these bars .... and many lines here and can not surely recognize which line belongs to which segment.

I'd like to change there names into

061: Giga Bar -1-1
062: Giga Bar -1-2
063: Giga Bar -1-3
064: Giga Bar -1-4
065: Giga Bar -1-5
066: Giga Bar -1-6
067: Giga Bar -1-7
068: Giga Bar -1-8

069: Giga Bar -2-1
070: Giga Bar -2-2
071: Giga Bar -2-3
072: Giga Bar -2-4
073: Giga Bar -2-5
074: Giga Bar -2-6
075: Giga Bar -2-7
076: Giga Bar -2-8

to change the order (FLIP)

1.
you can not change individual (linked) entries of a fixture. You only can give the "whole" fixture a name (in Profile Builder) and then "split" automatically assigns the segments with the same name, but adding (beam) numbers for separation. You may want to look into the profile (via Profile Builder) and identify the numbers (beams) to the functions of the fixture and assign the Groups after that.

2.
10x Gigbar with each 8 split segments will give a total of 80 segments. Wolfmix does not support that many "different" profiles, as after a split, it gives each segment an individual profile id. The maximum number of "individual" profile (fixture) IDs is 50! It does not matter if the "micro"-profiles are all identical or not.

So you can have 100s of one fixture model (one profile ID) patched to Wolfmix (if enough addresses are available), but the max number of different models (different profile IDs) to patch is 50 (and this includes "micro"-fixtures from split fixtures).
