ADJ ENTOUR FAZE MAchine

Post by Brian »

I'm trying to control the Entour Faze machine with my WMX1. I don't know what settings to set on my Faze Machine.

I would like to be able to hit the SMOKE button on the WMX1 and have it produce FAZE (Smoke) for about 5 seconds. Then I can hit it anytime I think I need more smoke (FAZE) Please, if you know how to do this, Please let me know. I really need to know the settings and what channel I should have the FAZE Machine on. 1,2,3 or channel 4? Help, I have a gig tomorrow night!!!!

Thanks, Brian

The ADJ Entour Faze has 3 different Channel Modes: 1CH, 2 Ch and 4 Ch.
You set the Entour Faze to the 2 Channel Mode.
Then you load the attached profile, select Mode 2 (2Channel), where you have the 2 channels for control (Ch1 = Haze Output volume and Ch 2 = Fan speed).

Once everything is loaded and patched to the desired DMX address, you then hold the SHIFT button and also select the SMOKE button.

Now you can pre-select the Fan Speed and the „haze" amount. The first 2 columns on the left gives you 5 ranges (0%, 25%, 50%, 75, 100%) for Haze amount and Fan speed. The most right column defines whether the SMOKE button acts like a flash button or on/off toggle. The other 3 buttons are timer presets with various hold times (1 sec; 5 sec; 10 sec). - Select your 5 second Preset and you are set.

I have tried everything to get this Faze machine to work with my WMX1. Nothing works, nothing happens. So I thought: OK, maybe I'll just hook up my Elation SDC12 and try Channel 1 and 2 and see if I can control the fan and output, and it works like a charm! So simple. But doing everything to get the WMX1 to work has been a total waste of time. I really want it to work, but if that Means I have to bring my small 12 channel dissolve unit with me and run the DMX wirelessly thru that, then fine. At least I will have full control at my fingertips.

I double checked again and the attached Entour Faze profile (above) does work.

Wolfmix supports 1Ch and 2Ch Fog/Hazer, so Mode 1 (1Ch) and Mode 2 (2Ch) of the profile do work with the Faze. Only the Mode 3 (4Ch) with additional Duration and Interval channels will work only with the help of Live Edit for these 2 channels (or you can put some default values for Duration and Interval - currently the default is set to Off).
Beside the DMX Startaddress you also have to set the Channel Mode on the Hazer, whether to use 1ch.Axxx or 2ch.Axxx, depending which profile Mode you were loading into Wolfmix.

The profile will NOT work with the ADJ Entourage, very similar naming, but slightly different settings for Haze/Fog amount and Fan speed.

Hi there. I'm also having issues with the ADJ Entour Faze. The ssl2 file in the Wolfmix only works with Mode 1 (1 ch). I would like to try the enclosed file you have added in this thread, but I dont know how to add it to the Wolfmix via Wtools.
I have downloaded your file and added it to the Cloud in Wtools through NicoleAudios webpage, but I dont know how to put it in the Wolfmix from there. Can you help?

once having the profile uploaded into the cloud, use WTOOLS, select FIXTURES and from the 2 colums, open the CLOUD folder on the "Cloud & Computer" side. You will find the Entour Faze profile in there. Click on the "blue arrow" to Sync to Wolfmix.
Finally on Wolfmix patch your new Faze profile. You will find it (again) in the CLOUD folder (NOT! in the ADJ folder...)

Thanks, it works.

How do I download ssl2 files form the wolfmix? In Easy View 2 I cant find the Varytec Hero Wash 340FX, because it isnt in the library.

Or can I download the fixture ssl2 file form somewhere?

EasyView is a "different" platform and NOT 1:1 compatible to what Wolfmix is doing. It is a different software program which is EMULATING(!!) the Wolfmix firmware only - but NOT a 1:1 representation.

That is the reason why EasyView (eventually) behaves slightly different. Also there is a DEDICATED set of profiles for EasyView available (loaded locally on your computer when installed) which is NOT THE SAME as the profiles in the Online Library.
Again, it is a different product. And there are profiles and fixtures which are not compatible to EasyView, as they do not have the correct EasyView-Profile available. You can not interchange profiles easily from local to Online or vice versa between Wolfmix native operation and EasyView virtual representation.
