Based on several discussions with other users especially on Facebook i would like to propose some ideas/features (im sure some others may expand on these ideas also)
1. An option, perhaps in the settings to enable "Dark on quiet" which would stop the light show on cutting the music instead of carrying on at an assumed beat (i observe probably 120bpm) would be a big advantage - especially for songs with quiet sections before a big drop. An additional bonus would be a timeout/control. i.e. on quiet do X (e.g. 1s silence fade master to 0)
2. Simple one! When beat detection is working, the BPM number never changes so you can only guess its working by watching how the Mic icon flashes, or your lights. The BPM number should change to match the beat it has detected
Feature Request(s)(Ideas...) - Improved Sound2Light.
Re: Feature Request(s)(Ideas...) - Improved Sound2Light.
Nice idea. We'll put it in a future update.
There's currently no BPM detection from the microphone. You either sync with BPM (via TAP, Ableton LINK, or OS2L) or PULSE (via microphone). We're considering an option to calculate the BPM from the microphone in a future update.
Re: Feature Request(s)(Ideas...) - Improved Sound2Light.
+1 for the "dark on quiet" option.
I think this would help a lot for lone DJ workers such as myself who don't always have as much time as I would like to concentrate on the lighting.
Would there be a way to adjust sensitivity on the line in?
As the OP mentioned, you can watch the microphone symbol flash on a "beat detect", but sometimes, especially on less bassy parts of a song, the mic flashes are a little random. Could the "speed" control encoder be used as a sensitivity control? or a "react to bass only" type of control?
Thank you
Lee.

Thanks Simon for your feedback, much appreciated. BPM Detection would be a great addition indeed as an option.Simon wrote: ↑Thu May 18, 2023 11:46 amNice idea. We'll put it in a future update.

Another thought, whilst your accepting them is that not only quite on dark, but also an option for move on dark would be very very cool and a big step up, so if you decide to look at these ideas please consider this one too

thanks!

Yes! Please revise the sound to light functions. They're not really good at the moment.
