DMX IN Questions / Feature Request

Post by Soundbooking.de »

Hello guys,
I saw the following feature which was released in Firmware 0.6.1 --> Add preset triggering via DMX IN.

Where can I found further information´s or a documentation how it works? I have investigated the whole wolfmix but I couldn´t found nothing like this.
Also is it planned to add the following control options via. DMX IN:

- Live Edits
- FX Speed
- FX Phase
- FX Size
- FX Fade

Thank´s for your support. 8-)

Hello!

You can access DMX preset triggering in the settings menu of Wolfmix.

Preset DMX IN channel : trigger a preset from a DMX Input channel. The DMX value of the selected channel will trigger the corresponding Preset number.

Preset jump DMX IN Channel: Jump between previous and next presets

Please note the WLINK add-on required to use DMX IN.

In regards to the control options, we are considering looking into this with a future revision although I unfortunately cannot give you a time frame of when this will be available.

Hope this is helpful!

Sorry, if I pick up this pretty old thread, but I this is exactly what I'm looking for. I want to control everything over the wolfmix, but I would like to have the option to start presets via an DMX input channel. If I understood the answer from AlexR right, than I can use the Preset DMX channel function for that. E.g. if the selected DMX in Channel is 512, than I can trigger with an external controller via channel 512 all 100 presets like this or?
channel 512 value 1 = preset 1
channel 512 value 2 = preset 2
channel 512 value 3 = preset 3
.
.
.
channel 512 value 100 = preset 100

Or do I understand something wrong?

Hello,

Yes- exactly right. You choose the input channel, then each value received on that channel will automatically assign to the relevant Preset. Alternatively you can use a 'Preset jump' option, which essentially will mean that value 1 = previous preset and value 2 = next preset.

You can also achieve a similar level of control with MIDI (using an mk2 Wolfmix W1 controller). Each Preset can be assigned a MIDI command, which can then be used to trigger each scene.

Kind regards,
Will
