How to merge presets ?

Post by InZeMix »

Hi ! I added some new floor spotlights in a new dedicated group and I've created new presets for these spotlights. Is it possible to merge these new presets to other "ancient" presets (made for my moving machines) ?

Thank you !

Hello,

It is not possible to merge presets, but it is possible to overwrite an existing preset by holding Shift + Selecting the preset you want to overwrite. When you save a preset, it stores ALL of the controller's current state (FX engine settings, active Live Edits, dimmer values, etc.). For this reason- merging presets would require a different workflow entirely, as you would need an new context menu to select what components you want to overwrite, and what to merge.

If you want to make changes to an existing preset, it is usually best to select the preset, make any changes, then overwrite the selected preset (or save it to a new slot so you have 2 'variants' of the same preset).

Kind regards,
Will
