I have six (6) ADJ Ricochets daisy-chained via DMX.
I add these units as the WOLFMIX suggests - adding six units by choosing six and pressing the knob - Group A
The WOLFMIX adds these units as follows:
Unit 1 1:001, Unit 2 1:016. Unit 3 1:031, Unit 4 1:046. Unit 5 1:061. Unit 6 1:076
In this scenario should the units all be set to MASTER or should the first one be se to MASTER and all other units to SLAVE?
Coincidentally I have SLAVE 1 and SLAVE 2 options on these Ricochet units.
Additionally should I not change the address of each unit numerically? Unit 1 bring Channel 1 and Unit 2 being Channel 2 and so on?
The Ricochets do not seem to be behaving to such operations a FAN or SIZE or any of the CHASE functions.
Additionally the default modes of these units don't seem to keep and adjusting the higher DMX channels does not change the units independently.
Proper settings for fixtures.
Re: Proper settings for fixtures.
The 6 fixtures have to be set to DMX, and DMX ONLY, no Master/Slave or other Ricochet internal functions. Wolfmix alone should handling all synchron (or phased synchron) activities!
Unit 1 should have address 001. It uses 15 channels to be controlled, so Unit 2 starts with DMX address 016. Again, 15 channels and so on. In other words: On Unit 2 with DMX "start" address 016, this 016 is actually the internal "DMX address 1" of the Unit 2, then DMX address 017 will be the internal DMX address 2 of Unit 2 and so on.
For proper operations you may need to edit the Ricochet profile file to adapt the Wolfmix capabilities. To do this, you have to edit profile in the Profile Builder and set / change (or workaround) a few DMX Types, Presets and settings. If not familiar, you can ask Wolfmix support to create a working profile for this fixture. Open a ticket and explain what isn't working as expected
Last comment: Ricochet as well as "Warlocks" or Starburst etc are not that type of fixtures which typically are controlled by Wolfmix like RGB PARs and Moving Heads with Pan/Tilt movements.. However, Ricochets and other (incl. Lasers) can be useful integrated to work with Wolfmix. But it will need adaption of the (DMX description) Profile file for proper operation. It will not come out-of-the-box.
