Wolfmix

I’m designing and running lights for a small stage local band that usually plays at small bars or outside under an ezup. The music is a lot of improv and stuff on the fly. Just a hobby for me and for the band, really. We have 8 front pars, 4 freedom sticks, 2 moving heads and 2 blinder led panels and a sweet hazer.

I’m really just looking for advice from others on how to set up my wolfmix. I have the suggested midi player as well, so plenty of faders and buttons to utilize.

I’ve heard the first page of presets should be all static and then slowly move more and more with the pages.

I’m also struggling with the live edits and how to utilize them the best.

Any advice?

What I did is I made a colour look and made row (so 4) different version of that look from low intensities tot high.

For live I play around and sometimes change colours etc but can always to sack to the same or different look. This way I filled the 5 pages.

I use a good quality "High CRI" front-lights I keep on so people can see the band and get good photos, I also keep the lights mounted physically lower than you would normally in a theatre as ours is a blues club and the the musicians like wearing hats so there eye wold be in shade otherwise!

For back, side and foot light I use RGBW light and different presets with looks that use complimentary or opposite colours , the timings I keep the same across all of the presents and then use the speed control to alter the whole lot based on whether is a fast of slow song etc

I also use a small fader board attached to the wolf and mapped to the groups to help me program and for those "oh ****" moments when a musician does something really random

(You'll notice from pictures the back of the stage is always changing, this is because our show is on the one day a play isn't running so we have to work around their set)
