I'm a newbie that needs a lot of help

Post by swangletang »

1st issue

I have 8 Rockville 50pars battery powered. I added them into the WMX1 and made sure they are daisy chained properly. I changed all the dmx channels on the lights to match what Wolfmix told me. The end result is just a blinking blue light - the only control I seem to have is the dimmer and blackout button.

Lights 1 - d001
Light 2 - d007
light 3 - 9013

etc.

Am I missing something here? I have double checked all my wires and connections.

I also can't seem to get the Rockville Haze machine I have hooked up. I again, did everything correctly but i won't appear in the controller.

you want to make sure all 8 PAR50s are not only match to each individual DMX (start) address, but also are set to the "Channel Mode" you are using.
The PAR50s can be set to either 3Ch Mode ..OR.. 6Ch mode, indicated by a Dxxx (6ch) or Axxx(3Ch) address. This has to match to the corresponding loaded Profile mode on Wolfmix/WMX1.

Most easy way is to use the (simple) 3 channel Mode, by setting Axxx addresses instead Dxxx. Then load the 3Ch Mode also into Wolfmix (you can also use a profile from GENERIC folder - "RGB" ).

I want to use the 6 channel mode but it doesn't seem to work. Is it possible something is wrong with the Wolfmix profile?

If I already built out a show in the visualizer with 6 channel mode, how can i keep my settings but use a 3 channel RGB generic?

You have to differentiate!
EasyView Virtualizer is NOT(!!) equal to Wolfmix. You are dealing with 2(!!) products and 2 (different) infrastructures.
What is going on at ONE product is/can be complete different to the OTHER product. Totally separate.
EasyView is using its OWN profiles, located on your computer in the EasyViewConnect folder ScanLibrary
Wolfmix is using his preloaded profiles or the majority profiles sitting in the Online Library (using WTOOLS)
There is NO(!!) Auto-sync or whatsoever between the 2 infrastructures. Its all MANUALLY and have to be prepared accordingly to your use (either using Wolfmix with REAL lights attached or using a virtualization on your computer with virtual output on screen). Don't expect when doing things on "one" side it (automatically) also appears on the "other" side.
Wolfmix is ONLY sending DMX channel+values (according HIS profile) to the Virtualization, which shows it on screen (according to the Virtualization profile)

For Wolfmix: make sure you use the Axxx addressing on the uplights and load the GENERIC RGB mode into Wolfmix and you are set.
For EasyView you also want to load the GENERIC RGB profile (to match the 3 channel mode on both sides)

appreciate the response but why cant I use the 6 channel mode for my lights? Is this is a wolfmix limitation? doesn't seem like it should be.
