New update coming in February?

Well, we're officially nicely past the early March timeframe that Simon was giving. Maybe another update on timeframe would be nice for those of us closing in on events we planned on using the new features for? Thank you!

I do not understand the "rush" here. Even if it would come out today, I am far away to use it immediately at my next public show. This will be the FIRST version of a complete new software, which will still has it glitches and hickups I am sure. V2.0 is NOT a simple "features adding" to the existing v1.2.5. It is fully new written! So the stability may vary in the beginning.
Just continue to use your projects you have done in the past with v1.2.5. When 2.x comes out you have enough time to "adjust" to the new features. Test it thoroughly before bring it out to any official event of yours.

The Presser at the beginning of February said: "we aim to have a shiny new Beta out for you all to try in the coming weeks". One more week and we will be 2 months (8 weeks). Coming weeks might be coming months but the idea of being in a "Rush" I think might be missing the context of more than a year and a couple months since the last release. Added to that is frustration that many were not satisfied in what was addressed in the prior release so maybe it might seem a little over anxious if your expectations were built from just the recent exposition in Spain at the beginning of February. This release, if as advertised, should be a big positive but hopefully the goodwill built up with the advertised new features isn't squandered in mismanaged expectations. On one side you really hope they took the time for the beta to be in a usable form and not too buggy on the flip side if they got ahead of themselves too much because of the pent up frustrations and just wanted to get some good news out there that could also frustrate a lot of customers. To me the best policy is always going to be honesty. Honesty, not exaggerated promises, not stone-walling communications, just honesty. So, if with the best intentions, you really thought it would be out in 3-6 weeks (coming weeks) but you ran into more sticky issues getting it out than you expected at the time, just say so (preferably before "coming weeks" is no longer applicable) and give a revised estimate (you can qualify your response and say to the best of our knowledge and subject to change). Then you're honest, you're communicate well and customers can gauge their plans and expectations in a more informed way

To be fair ISE is a pretty big deal and plenty of free publicity, so I'm not surprised they teased it.

SO many companies do it at NAMM as well.

Rane have been notorious for it in recent years.

Of course they said it will come in the next weeks. Nobody would have any interest in it now, when they would have said it comes in October. This is the way you do advertising nowadays. You anonuce it already and then hype the people and somehow keep the hype until it is released. And that is exactly what is happening here. We fill threads with questions, asumptions and disappointments and keep the hype alive.
Almost all companies doing it that way, so no complains from my side.

What would be the benefit for Nicolaudi to anounce a "new" timing.
- I will not push sales, as every will wait for the release
- discussion here would be stopped until the anounced date
- it would add additional pressure to have it available at a certain date
- in case they would not keep the date, the next complaints and shitstorm would imediatelly start
- the anouncement on the ISE was a big highlight, which got a lot of range, but publish a launch date would have any impact at all, so no advertising effect.
