Very Nice setup!

Works great till you start using lights with gobos cause when you than activate your move or beam it changes the gobo of your moving light to what’s saved in that move or beam preset. That is holding me so much back since I wanne work exactly the way you work here which is great!

Great setup!

Ahhh bummer. I understand. I don;'t use gobos much, so I wasn't considering that. I have a few setup in Live Edit. I mostly use prisms which are controlled by the small DMX box, so those are on top of the stack and aren't affected by the other lower tier functions. I can set the prism (optionally with spin) on the fader while everything else is in black and the beams will already be set when I bring up the lights.
Honestly I'm still figuring out my workflow. Things totally changed when 2.0 was released (pre-release beta) with the layered FX options especially. Fades are probably the biggest thing I'm trying to figure out now - along with getting the APC and Launchpad to work together thru the Doremidi MSC-10. And I need to figure out a good control method for my downstage wash lights so I can fade those in and out.

By the way.... What stickers are those for your Akai Mini ?
You're welcome! Hey I'm happy to share. I've learned so much from other folks here and on the FB groups. I'm using Avery Presta 94102 labels. They're a matte transparent sticker that's about 3/4x3/4". The buttons are 3/4x3/8" or whatever the metric number is for that. There might be a 3/4x3/8 label out there but I couldn't find one. Cut them in half with a razor knife and they fit just right. They stick very well, but I can see that they will start coming up with alot of use so I've printed a couple backup sheets ;)

The Avery site has an online template maker for you to design the labels, save to a PDF and print. I'm attaching one of my PDF's for an example. I used a regular label sheet to print the white text/black background for my fader labels and small side buttons.

The top row is just text - different from the others. Those are my full-stage colors so, because I'm a little OCD, I made those APC buttons the color of the lights. The rest of the APC buttons are I think #3 or 8 cool white to shine thru the colors on the labels.

Enjoy!
