Very exciting to see these new options!!

Trying to figure out exactly what they do, while we wait for official documentation

Yes you called it, I remember that thread!

It's great that you can now choose to save dimmer information into each preset or not. However, I have a bit of an issue with it for my use case and was hoping if anyone could help me with this:

---

Let's say:

- I'm on a blue preset (with no dimmer information saved in it. I am using my MIDI fader board for the dimmers live. It has a Fade time of 1 second)

- I then switch to a (Flash) preset that is ALL red (every group at 100%). Since it's a flash effect, the All Red preset then goes back to my original blue preset for the 1 second Fade time.

- The original blue preset Fades in 1 second. BUT -- it fades in at the same dimmer settings as the ALL Red preset (everything 100%). This of course makes sense because my original Blue preset has NO dimmer information saved in it. And the Red at all 100%. So of course after triggering the ALL Red preset, the original Blue preset (no dimmer information) would inherit the ALL Red preset's 100% dimmer information. This is by design and makes sense.

---

Basically, my hope was that I could be on a dim Blue preset (group dimmers based on my MIDI faders at the time), then do a quick ALL red 100% brightness Flash preset, then go back to my initial Blue preset at the same Dimmer settings that it was before I hit the Red 100% preset.

Is there something I am missing here, or is this a limitation at the moment?

" then do a quick ALL red 100% brightness Flash preset, then go back to my initial Blue preset at the same Dimmer settings that it was before I hit the Red 100% preset."

What if you set that up in a Live Edit and then saved as a Preset?

Speaking of Live Edits... are you having any issues with the new 2.0.5? Here's a post from the FB group:
--------------------
Dániel Török
I had three issues:
-Locked Live Edits worked only from touch screen. This is important for me, since I make this for fixtures with Lamp On
-Flash Live Edits work like regular ones: I have to turn them off manually
-Regular Live Edits saved in Presets aren't turning off when I change Preset.
Made a ticket for this

Barry Vedros
All of my flash (right side) buttons are working.
Regular Live Edit buttons aren't turning off on the second press.
Flash Live Edits - I have to turn them off manually.
All Live Edit buttons are working for me, buttons and screen. However the buttons on my page 1 live edits are doing the same thing with the corresponding buttons on all pages! Yikes!! That's bad.
I'm gonna create a new 2.0.5 project and see if it still happens

Ah that's true I could do the live edit technique! However really hoping to be able to do this as regular presets with the beam effects & color fx that come with it as well.

"Speaking of Live Edits... are you having any issues with the new 2.0.5?"

I'm going to go down these one by one to see if I am also having the same issues.

(Note: my project is opened from before and not a fresh new 2.0.5 project)

-------------------------

- Locked Live Edits worked only from touch screen

This does affect me, BUT, it's only happening to one of my locked live edits:

https://i.imgur.com/d3k65UN.jpeg

Which is interesting because I have 3 locked live edits that are basically exactly the same; they do the same things, just at varying brightnesses.

Update: Later on in this comment I made more live edits on page 2/3/4 to test something so I came back here to say that this issue also happens with all live edits on those pages, just not page 1 (except the live edit on the bottom right)

-------------------------

- Flash Live Edits work like regular ones: I have to turn them off manually

Yes I experience this as well.

-------------------------

- Regular Live Edits saved in Presets aren't turning off when I change Preset.

I am not experiencing this -- in fact something about this has been fixed for me, which was that live edits saved in presets were held for 1 second too long at the beginning when they were meant to fade out instantly; now they immediately fade out as intended.

-------------------------

- All of my flash (right side) buttons are working.

Mine are working perfectly as well -- also happy about the MIDI toggled SPEED toggle working now!

-------------------------

- Regular Live Edit buttons aren't turning off on the second press.

I luckily do not experience this

-------------------------

- All Live Edit buttons are working for me, buttons and screen. However the buttons on my page 1 live edits are doing the same thing with the corresponding buttons on all pages

That's quite bad haha. At the moment I only use 1 page for my live edits but I made more on other pages to test this, and yes, it happens to me as well. For this bug, I've noticed that the buttons for page 1 are always listening/always awaiting input no matter which page you're on. You can turn off the live edits on page 1 if you are on page 2, 3, or 4.

---

This whole situation makes me wish we could temporarily revert back to 2.0.4 from 2.0.5 haha. The original 1.2.6 is great but 2+ is so much better it's hard to go back...!

Just did a quick view and indeed I have some trouble with the live edits. Here a quick summary:
- flash edit don’t respond as before. The work as normal as mentioned above this post.
- page 2/3/4 didn’t work anymore (live edit pages)
- the right lowest hexagon button doesn’t work or respond on the live edit page.

Didn’t found other problems as of for now.

I’m happy with the new addition of the save methode!

I want to mention again that I really appreciate that the team really are lissening to input! Great job!
