UKing Mini Moving Heads

Fixture not working as it should? Post it here and we'll check it out. Be precise with the fixture name as there are many with similar names.

UKing Mini Moving Heads

Post by swangletang »

I bought some generic UKing brand mini moving heads and cant get them to work. When I check the DMX values, everything seems right..I tested all of them. but on the home screen, there is no color showing for that group and when I go to gobos nothing appears, but in the DMX values screen everything works right?

Any help?

i've mostly gotten all this working using a different profile.

However, the last moving head is out of sync. I've tried to reset it but it stays out of sync with the effects.

The problem is, eventually made profiles for chinese Movers are done after the manuals they do provide, which are mostly incorrect and not worth the paper they are printed on. That is why they mostly do not work on Wolfmix!
I did 100s of these, even the same TYPE (model name) has unlimited variations in the market. If you have one working, it is not automatically the blueprint for all others. Each has variations and is different!
Best is to create a "skeleton" profile, using all channels as OTHER -? channel type. Then figure out what PRESETS inside these channels doing what and when. Make notes of the Color Presets, the Gobo Presets, When in Shutter & Strobe the light is ON and OFF and where it starts to Strobe and where it ends to Strobe. Out of your notes you can THEN create a working profile for your Fixture. (sounds like a big deal, but in reality its just a couple of minutes).

ugh, these certainly have been frustrating. don't think I'll buy them again, even though they aren't that bad for their price, still might not really be worth it for me.

I do have them working now for the most part, just can't get strobe, wolfmix effects to work. The colors are also wrong but I mostly have them working now.
