MarsLite BeamBar 8 red Laser.

Post by martel »

Hey,

now i try to create the profil for the MarsLite BeamBar 8 red Laser.

But, I create it in a simple and stupid way, I encode channel by channel what is written in the documentation... but once sent to the W1, so many things have no impact on the lighting effect.

Example: I only have the Tilt, it's a simple bar that can only move up and down. (So I encode in the Profiler Builder, Pan = 0 and Tilt = 540) OK
When I go into the MOVE FX, and I try all the possibilities, normally the effect of the move on the TILT should work? Well, no.

Also, with TILT only, I can't get the angle limitation it can make to work. I arrive at the dial with the crosshair, which can only do TILTING. I reduce it almost completely to significantly limit the angle, but no, you can do the full TILTING distance :( Is there a rule that says if there's no PAN then the limitation doesn't apply?

Or I would have liked to link the Beam FX with channel 5 (Laser self-propelled effect), which ranges from 0-15 without functions, and between 16-255, a series of effect patterns. For example, between 16-255, it would be divided into a series of effects: 16-18 = effect 1; 19-22 = effect 2, etc., and the BEAM FX button could cycle through these effect patterns...

I've watched all of Wolfmix's videos, but found no help.

Please keep in mind that the "translations" or descriptions in the manuals are not always matching the exact function in order to implement it 1:1 into a Wolfmix profile.
You DO NOT have to configure one PAN and one TILT channel (because you only have ONE "TILT" channel. So you only configure just one TILT channel.

Example: If you have a Tilt (only) of the bar, you only configure a TILT channel and activate it either using MoveFX or use BeamFX and push SIZE/FEATURE button, then dial to TILT. Now activate BeamFX and your Bar will Tilt. (the 540⁰ information is irrelevant, it tilts from 000 -to- 255 value, whatever the angle between the 2 positions is. period). Do NOT be confused about the "data" in the properties fields!!

I could see that you have LIMITED your SPEED to a very hight number as default. This makes it extreme(!) slow.
Edit your Profile again and set your SPEED Default to 0 !!

haa ok, thanks axel.

So, the MOVE FX are based on the default profile values.
I find that the web interface is missing a tooltip when hovering over each option to indicate what exactly it affects.

Can you tell me the options "Random", "Index", "Snake", etc., when selecting a preset, do these also affect the possible choices in the MOVE FX?

And in the case of my single-color (red) bar, is it possible to assign the Beam FX to what? I have a channel that allows me to change the appearance of each red laser in a pattern. Is it possible to assign the Beam FX button to this channel and have the Beam FX display random values on this channel?

I don't know if I'm making myself clear...!!!

No, the FIXTURE is following the Default values, if not given different by any activation of a button or knob in the profile.

Do NOT MESS AROUND with "Random", Index", "Snake" and whatever, UNLESS you know exactly what and why you want change default settings for a REASON (and what the outcome would be). Mostly leave everything as is! In PRESET PROPERTIES the most relevant entry is the DEFAULT tag and the corresponding Default VALUE then. SOMETIMES(!!!!)...you can do reverse DMX order from min 000- max 255 into min 255- to max 000 to reverse functions, e.g. when the Strobe of a fixture is not going from low DMX value ( = slow Strobe) to high DMX value ( = fast Strobe) but the DMX says low DMX value ( = fast Strobe) and high DMX value ( = slow Strobe). Then you can reverse the DMX values (also helpful is you have 2 rotations and you want ONE to rotate the opposite) So for Strobe when have mixed Fixtures, they all react the same for Strobe (low number/slow Strobe and high number/fast Strobe).

And remember: Nicolaudie has MANY different DMX products, which are ALL using the same Cloud (Content, Channel Types, etc). Only SOME applies to Wolfmix, others go for Light Rider and another other for DASLight. All the features are NOT ALL for Wolfmix control!
