Hi Gregor!

Yeah it’s a huge plus for sure! The way I mentioned I think would greatly improve it. Gone deep dive it again tonight to work with it with this way of thinking…. It’s more a program way of thinking that’s the difference in my suggestion and the way it now works :)

Only save the move in a stack presets sounds straight forward to me :)

Well I’ve just tried it… but sadly isn’t working as you said… when you have your settings and make a movement and remove all live edits… and than save it only the movement of the fx it does take into that stack preset the gobo’s and also live edits and positions… these shouldn’t be included… at least not for what I see this being usefull for. Maybe this could be fixed. The preset seems to save the live edit data, the gobo data and the position data. Just leave them empty doesn’t fix it.

It should be a easy fix… cause my vision is as you explained but for the moment it just isnt working like that (yet).

Only should contain the choose fx data in it.

Morning guys, especially Kevin! 🙋‍♂️

Yeah, my colleague Will read this thead and corrected me, too. Sorry for giving you wrong info yesterday, I got it wrong indeed... (But at least we've all learned a lot! 😬)

So, everything back to the start, and then we can think about solutions, or advancements. Let's take this picture again, and this time with a corrected version of what I posted yesterday.

Below, you can see in the the screen that apears when you save or edit a PRESET:

Image

In here, you can specifiy which info shall be saved, and which shall not:

COLOR - Enables/disables saving COLOR FX and STATIC COLORS
MOVE - Enables/disables saving MOVE FX and STATIC POSITIONS
BEAM - Enables/disables saving BEAM FX

(You will get a great example of this if you use the new "Generate Presets" function as that one will give you one page with 'full-fledged' ones including eveything, and also three pages only with COLOR, MOVE, and BEAM FX. Please make sure not to overwrite our existing presets by setting the START PAGE in the left bottom!)

As Kevin mentioned, I was also wrong about "empty PRESETS", that's not possible at all as...

The following information will ALWAYS be saved with a PRESET:

GOBOS - All states of which are active and inactive
LIVE EDITS - All states of which are active and inactive
GROUP DIMMERS will be saved in the PRESET, but you can deactivate this in the general settings

=> When you trigger a different PRESET, it will always recall the exact state of the GOBOS and LIVE EDITS as when the PRESET was saved. (GROUP DIMMERS aside, see above.)

We're going to discuss this feature internally going forward - but always keep in mind that this is still WAY better than it was with the old version before 2.0 (where just EVERYTHING was saved)! 💁‍♂️😎

Yeah I found… a little bit dissapointed hoped it worked like you said. But no big deal everybody can make a mistake! Just hoped it was like that :)

I’m a strong voter for don’t store live edits, gobos & positions in these preset saves. Or get the option and be able to turn it on/off same as the fx’s now. But that’s probably clear hahaha.

Yeah it’s better than before for sure but still kind of missing the usability for me.

The way I see it it’s super handy for making your look… with colours etc and use the stored move and beam fx to interact with your look. But you don’t want that it’s changes the gobos all the time.

I’m using live edit sometimes to turn off sertain lights so I don’t want them to go on when I trigger a stored move/beam fx. This is mainly from a busking perspective… the normal preset way of working is perfect to use while djing and let the wolfmix run the made presets.

Before I made my preset and set for every move fx or beam fx the values I liked. Before 2.0 these where also stored in the preset so you could work from there while busking to change for example your left right in movement or later your figure 8 cause the speed was in the preset. This isn’t the case anymore since 2.0. So I thought about the new way of working which would be even better to be fair… but now it changes stuff that I don’t prefer.

Hi team!

I was just thinking about this again.

I think the perfect solution would be to add the option to save or not in your presets the live edits, gobo’s & position simple with a button similar to what we now have. Maybe a bit smaller than the fx buttons in the preset save screen.

Would be amazing en super usefull to really shape your presets the way someone would want!
