WOLFMIX BETA Firmware 2.0 has arrived – it’s our biggest update since launch. A hands-on preview is available immediately, whether you have a Wolfmix W1 MK1 or MK2! (Just make sure to read the final section before using it.)
We’ve doubled almost everything: PRESETS, LIVE EDITS, PROJECTS, GOBOS, POSITIONS, COLOR palettes – and that’s just the beginning!
Check out our new ‘FW 2.0 Double Trouble’ feature video on YouTube for a quick overview – Simon Bennett explains the main new and updated features. For full details, just keep on reading.
Double Color FX, Double Move FX and Double Beam FX
We’ve tackled the most requested Wolfmix feature ever – doubling the number of simultaneous FX. You want a Move FX Circle on one group of lights and a Move FX Tilt on another? Plus two Beam FX and two Color FX running at the same time? Go for it!

WOLFMIX Intelligence
Ready for another killer feature? Meet Wolfmix Intelligence – a suite of powerful tools we’ll be rolling out over the next few years. The first one? Intelligent Preset.
On the PRESET screen, you’ll now find a new button in the top right. Tap it to bring up a large ‘GENERATE PRESETS’ button in the center. One tap – and BAM! 80 fully automated presets based on your fixtures are instantly created and ready to go! With this new feature, building a show from scratch takes just seconds! And of course, you can tweak, rearrange and refine everything afterwards to your liking.
Right now, this is just the first Wolfmix Intelligence feature – and we’re only getting started!

More of Everything, plus 20-Slot Palettes
You can now save 200 PRESETS (before: 100), 80 LIVE EDITS (before: 40), and up to 100 projects (before: 6). The number of all STATIC elements such as Colors, Positions, and Gobos were increased to 20 (before: 10), and for a better handling of those, we’re introducing a new expand mode: Pressing one of the 4 encoders will now expand the view to the full palette with all its 20 slots. Alternatively, you can still scroll through the four column "pages" using SHIFT + encoder turn, similar to before.
With all 20 at a glance, you get faster access and more flexibility to shape your shows – with rich colors, finer positioning, and lots of gobos. The latter is also a game-changer for lasers. Trigger up to 20 laser patterns directly from the 20-slot gobo expansion page, for much better hands-on laser control!

Updated SEQUENCERS and STATIC POSITIONS
A major upgrade also comes to STATIC POSITIONS: Not only have we doubled the slots here too, but you can now create offset positions for each individual moving head – giving you full positioning freedom across all 20 slots.
That’s also a great foundation for using the updated MOVE FX and BEAM FX sequencers, which now work in a more precise and flexible way: For each step in a sequence, you can define per group which segments are active. And to change the number of steps, just hold SHIFT and tap the desired step number – done!

New BPM Synchronisation Options
If you click the displayed BPM value on the HOME screen, you can now manually set the tempo precisely using the encoder - the decimal value with SHIFT. With the JOG function, you can nudge the beat live for perfect synchronisation. And finally, the new MUSIC BREAK option freezes all FX when the external BPM signal stops.

Updated Color Functions and LIME Support
In the Color Picker screen, you’ll now find several new icons at the top: RGB+ allows for much more precise control over RGB and extra colors – now including support for LIME. With CMY and HUE, colors can be mixed beyond the traditional RGBWAU scheme. HUE in particular offers a useful way to define the balance between standard RGB and extra colors. (For example: simulated fire just looks way better with red/amber than with a red/green mix.)

Other New Features:
- New ‘WOLFRIDER’ Beam FX: Inspired by K.I.T.T’s iconic Knight Rider light – sweeping from left to right, and back.
- Link control: Sync your fixtures in two simple ways:
- - LINK FIXTURE – all fixtures do exactly the same. (Think Wolf Rider running across several LED bars, each showing the exact same pattern in sync).
- - LINK GROUP – multiple groups behave identically, making perfect fixture sorting much less important. (Again, think Wolf Rider, but in sync across several full groups).
- New Setup Screen: Get full control from one place – lock your Wolfmix, tweak settings, manage projects, configure your fixture setup, access DMX values, and map your MIDI inputs.
- Updated Settings screen: Now organized into four sections – ‘DMX’ (universe output), ‘General’ (core system settings), ‘Project’ (flash button exclusions), and ‘Presets’ (defines what gets saved within a preset).
- New Mappings screen: Since most group settings have moved, all MIDI mappings are now handled in the new ‘Mappings’ screen. Due to many requests in this regard, the whole mapping.

Immediate Preview for Everyone!
Want to try it out yourself? Wolfmix BETA Firmware 2.0 is available now! Just open the WTOOLS app on your PC or Mac and install the new BETA firmware – it’s completely free for all MK1 and MK2 users.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Since this is a BETA release, we strongly recommend backing up all your projects first. You can do this within the ‘Projects’ screen in WTOOLS, or (on W1 MK2 only) by inserting a memory stick and selecting ‘Backup’ from the Setup screen. Better save than sorry!
