Hi Everyone.
I have been using my WMX1 for two years with my 30 Chauvet Q9s and have loved it. I am adding two moving heads to my production and i am REALY struggling with Setting up my new Shehds JMS Webb Small Bee moving heads. Ive tried manually setting it up in the WOlfmix multiple times and cannot even get the thing to show basic colors. Is there anyone that can help? Thanks in advance!
Help With Profiles
Re: Help With Profiles
Hello,
Would you please be able to upload the DMX tables as found within the user manual of this fixture so that we can look into this for you? You may need to put the file(s) into a folder, then compress it to a zipped file, then upload it here. Alternatively you can use a file sharing service such as Google Drive, WeTransfer.com, etc.
Kind regards,
Will

Re: Help With Profiles
For (cheap) chinese fixtures its mostly the manual which doesn't give enough information to built a working profile. Missing item no.1 are COLORS(!) - just Color1, Color2, Color3 etc is not sufficient for Wolfmix. Item no.2 are wrong OPEN/CLOSED Presets in Shutter & Strobe, so you either see NEVER a beam On, or always Strobe, or ALWAYS ON
For these situations you can create a "skeleton profile" first, to find out the correct Colors at the right DMX value. After that you can include these settings to your profile and finalize.
For the Shutter & Strobe you can create "save buffer" zones between CLOSED (force 000) and OPEN (force 255) and putting "placeholders" (Flash presets) between (000) CLOSED-to-Strobe slow and the Strobe fast-to OPEN (255) - and make OPEN the default

Re: Help With Profiles
Thanks everyone! I was beginning to think I was crazy. For sure the colors won't work as Ive set it up per the DMX profile in the manual. Turns out, the fixture they sent is just the wash version (without the prism effects), which is not what I wanted so I'm sending it back anyway now. Had a friend recommend the Betopper version of the light (wider beam angle for close up DJ wash).
So if anyone has a working profile for the Betopper LM0740 that works with Wolfmix, it would save me days of trial and error DMX Adjustment within the system. Thanks again for everyone's help!

Re: Help With Profiles
A Betopper LM0740 profile can be loaded from the Online Library (using WTOOLS).
Do NOT LOAD the 0740D!!...unless you have exact this model. Regular LM0740 is the "mini" version with 12ch and 18ch modes.
Only downside with this profile is it has no "realtime" ROTATION control. For Rotation you want to create 2 or 3 Live Edits having various fixed Rotation speeds and directions per Live Edit. (..or you create your own Rotate control by re-using the "Gobo" ROTATE encoders ...)

Re: Help With Profiles
Exactly correct information here (thanks @Axell!
)
One additional note however on the Rotation channel- you can certainly use the static Live Edits to control this, or reassign the Gobo Rotation channel, but there is one other idea you can try also (using the Live Edit Macro dials).
- Go to Settings > DMX Values > Settings (Beam Editor)
- Select your fixture
- Scroll the second encoder to the 'Effect' feature
- Press in the second encoder and set the relevant channel
- Use the third encoder to set the DMX Min value to 0 and the DMX Max to value 255
- Use the fourth encoder to set the Off value to 0 and the On value to 255
- Repeat for any other fixtures you want this to apply to
- Go to the Live Edits screen
- Hold Shift + tap the encoder you want to use
- Turn the first encoder to set the 'Effect' feature
- Press 'Done'
Now you can control the fixture Rotation dynamically using the dial you have set in the Live Edits window.
Kind regards,
Will

Re: Help With Profiles
right, the point is that there are sometimes multiple options to "solve" a problem.
But why is it that I can configure EFFECT channel types ONLY in a project using Beam Editor and not "by default" in the profile when using the Profile Builder?
The Beam Editor usage is a bit difficult to use and edits will not be part of the profile, just of the project (if you save it).

Re: Help With Profiles
The 'Effect' feature is not something that is a real fixture component, which is why it is not included in Profile Builder (it is however included in the Wolfmix internal Profile Creator if you did want to make a permanent change to a profile for use in multiple projects!). It's a feature that is exclusive to Wolfmix, purely for the purpose of allowing people to customise fixture components that are not natively controlled in the controller
