Fixture selection in sequencer effect

Post by Serotonin_Sessions »

Hi there,

I am aware that when using the sequencer effect that Wolfmix automatically assigns fixtures to groups, but is there any way of changing this?

I have 6 SpectraPix Battens installed above the dancefloor. They are in pairs across 3 beams. At the moment, the way the groups are assigned means that the first 2 are grouped together perfectly on the front beam, but after that the groupings are all over the shot. I, for example, would love to activate the front 2, then the 2nd 2 then the final 2, and in a dream world have the ability to activate random ones e.g. just 1 on a line (essentially create all different patterns). Is this in no way doable? I'm assuming because there's only 4 buttons on the midi pad that's not going to happen, but surely there's a workaround of some form

I loom forward to seeing your responses.

Hello,

Thanks for raising this topic! The Beam FX sequencer is currently not modifiable in such a way that you can choose custom beams to be activated per step. The way it works is that every beam in the Group is divided up into the 4 buttons, in index order (i.e. starting at the top of your fixture patch list, ending at the bottom of the fixture patch list- counting every beam of a multi-beam fixture in incremental order). Using these 4 buttons, you can then set 8 steps for different combinations of beams being on/off- but this is currently the extent of it's capabilities.

Does that answer your question, or perhaps have I missed some important detail/point at all?

Kind regards,
Will

No That does answer it, even if it's not the answer i'd hope for :D

That does seem, however as something that could been added to an update. Without being able to choose which fixtures can activate when, you can only really use that button for very limited things, yet 3 edit options are provided for it! Is there anywhere this comment can be added to a wishlist?

Absolutely, I have already added it to our future ideas log so that it can and will be considered for future updates! Thanks for your feedback on the topic :)
