When patching, an error message always appears: too many channels. The first modes at least should be controllable with the Wolfmix.

You most likely reaching a fixture type limit on Wolfmix by having too many segments.
There is a limit of 50 unique "profiles" within the Wolfmix project. When a fixture is split, each subsequent segment is then interpreted as a unique fixture/profile.
