Can you please add Chauvet ILS fixtures?
Can you please add Chauvet ILS fixtures?
Hi, I have all my lights from Chauvet DJ but the ILS versions. Mostly I use the standard Chauvet versions in my Wolfmix controller, knowing that the DMX mapping is the same. But sometimes this does not work. For example with the moving head 160 ILS. But I also have issues with the FX Swarm ILS. So my question is, can you please add the Chauvet DJ - ILS fixtures? Especially the complex ones because for those I have issues to set them up myself, even with fixture builder. Thanks!
Re: Can you please add Chauvet ILS fixtures?
better to use (official) Fixture Request on https://store.wolfmix.com/ssl
On a second thought I wonder what you expect you can control on the Chauvet Swarm 5 FX ILS. It is mainly a "Preset Slingshot" machine, no real DMX values other than "fire off" their internal Automatic programs and effect colors - again, nothing what could be controlled by the Wolfmix other than only "ready-made" Presets, including Laser programs (!), Color Presets and Strobes. Have you ever thought about HOW you want to control/trigger those channels with WHAT from Wolfmix?
Someone can probably create a profile for it with like ~ 3 "ColorWheels" for Preset (Programs, effect colors, strobe programs) "firing off" by pushing various Colors (trigger Presets) and use encoders for effect chase speed or Laser rotation, but it would be MUCH easier accomplished by using the Live Edit Presets and "feed" some Channel DMX values into it and use these instead. The "sheer" quantity of controls required to operate this unit makes it nearly impossible to operate from external. All "definitions" of this fixture are only referring to their very own Automatic/Internal programs and there is nothing like a plain RGB or Pan/Tilt command to be controlled from the outside. To create a profile for Control of this fixture you may end up using 4 Groups of your Wolfmix (Programs / Effect Colors / Laser / Strobe Programs) as they all have to be controlled separately PLUS a few encoders for Laser rotation and Effect chase speed)
With this fixture you are bound to the built in effect programs only and this is something the Wolfmix can NOT simulate (as it has its very OWN effect generator). ...And they definitely are different.
One might be inclined and ask: Why is someone buying a Standalone DMX Effect Controller (including its very own effect engine) if you want to attach mostly effect fixtures (including their very own effects) where you easily just can use the remote control (standalone) to get the effects you want?

Re: Can you please add Chauvet ILS fixtures?
Tnx for your reaction. I do not expect much from the Swarm but would still like to control it via dmx if I feel like it. The reason next to ILS control is that I sometimes like to play with all my lights and create a show and other times i just want to DJ and have the lights do its work without a DMX controller. And that works perfect with ILS. I will ask adding the fixtures in the correct forum topic
Re: Can you please add Chauvet ILS fixtures?
Again, there is no "real" external DMX control POSSIBLE, as it ONLY contain pre-programmed automatic programs.
This can be fired off with a set of Live Edit Presets. So the "official" answer will suggest a similar approach.
If you want to fire off the built-in effects - use Live Edit Presets (official support). If you want to have minimal "control" via a Color Wheel to select certain patterns by pressing "colored buttons", this will require a self-made profile, which will NOT come from Nicolaudie as an official solution. You simply can not select 3 or 4 Presets simultaneous to get "Red-Blue-White-Amber" effect Colors. A Preset has only ONE state
