Cameo Hydrabeam 4000 and settings

Post by Djhawkeye »

I'm new to this but have manage to program the wolfmix and the scanner bars. Looks super nice and very easy.
But I have some beginner questions.
I have 12 Hydrabeam 4000 56 channel in square truss 3x3x3x3

1: How should you forum pro adress the scanners? I have all at the same adress. Maybe 1,57,113 1,57,113.... or 1,1,1 57,57,57 113,113,113 ... Can't adress different on all (56x12=672)
2: I have program the scanner bar as a single fixture. Is there any advantage if i split them? They move quite nice already

If you have the W1 (Nicolaudie) you have 2 Universes included, so 672 DMX Addresses should be no problem.
The ADJ WMX1 only comes with 1 Universe.

The advantage to split is to be able to assign any (sub) fixture to a different Group for individual control (Color & Movements). The way you want to group them in 3-packs either way as you described, does not give you any advantages. Do as you like.
If you SPLIT the fixture, make sure to use firmware 0.7.x on Wolfmix, because it is fixing a bug with multi (split) moving heads.

We had a Hydrabeam 4000 thread already where I also found a problem in the standard 56Ch profile - did not split - and uploaded a fix for it

Thanks for tha fast answer. Now I understand it a little better.
Yes I have a W1 and 2 universe but i think I will save it to my future back light and 8 Hydrabeam 400 rgb.
I have 2 smoke, 2 laser and 6 par 64 in the truss also, so I will save the dmx channels and maybe split the Hydrabeam 4000 in 3 par.
I have read the thread about 4000 but I can't see the problem in my profile. I will look at it again.

I have also problem when I test the Hydrabeam 400rgb. Everything works as expected except when I press strobe. Only one beam strobe. Can I do something in the profile?

The "standard" Profile (WTOOLS) for HydraBeam 4000 has still the false assignment. That is why the SPLIT is only working for 3 fixtures, and not 4. Moving Head 1+2 and Color control 1+2 are unified and can not controlled independently (as it should).
In the profile in Mode 5 (56Ch) you have
Ch 17 = Tilt 2 - beam 2
Ch 18 = uTilt 2 ...(also beam 2 as attached to Tilt2)
Ch 19 = P/T Speed - beam 1
Ch 20 = Dimmer 2 - beam 2

So breaking the beam sequence by "hopping" back-and forth" with beam assignments (beam 2, then beam 1, then beam 2 again) gives unreliable "SPLIT" capabilities. That is why I uploaded a fixed version of it. NOW you can SPLIT the fixture in 56Ch mode into 4 separate (sub) fixtures and assign them to different Groups.

---------------------------------

The problem with Hydrabeam 400RGB is indeed STROBE 1 (Ch 7). This is assigned to all 4 beams (1,2,3,4) where it should be assigned to beam 1 only. Same for Channel Sensitivity 1 (Ch 10). and also Dimmer 4 (Ch 48) should also be assigned to beam 4 only, not 1,2,3,4.
If you fix the 3 channels the profile will split and work.

Ah! Thanks for the technical answer. Easy to understand. I will look at that and fix the profile.

At first I was trying to edit the profile in the Wolfmix, but when I saved the profile the channels moved around in the profile. Everything was a mess. Maybe a bug?
So i edit the profile online and downloaded it.
Everything work perfect now! Strobe and split. Thanks for all help.
