Adding Smoke / Hazer

Post by LeeLad »

Hey!

This may seem like a silly question....

What DMX channel is the smoke button assigned to on the W1? How do I add a hazer and use this function? I've found the fixture fine but don't know what address to assign it to?

Theres very little info around regarding this?

Cheers

There is no "fixed" SMOKE channel on the SMOKE button as every Fogger/Hazer can have it differently implemented. The definition is done in the Profile and then the profile (Fogger/Hazer) is giving a DMX Address.

All Wolfmix does when pressing the SMOKE button is, it "scans" the profiles for a "SMOKE" DMX Type definition and differentiate SMOKE and SMOKE FAN and "routes" the value to the configured Channel (by definition in the profile - example: Ch1=Smoke amount / Ch2=FAN) - then it is added to the DMX Start Address (example: 144) so Wolfmix sends a value to SMOKE to 144 and FAN to 145.

Makes perfect sense.

Would be good if there was a specific guide on how to add a smoker / hazer machine.

Thanks for your help.

Here is your "guide" to create a Smoke profile ...
create a new profile: smoke 2Ch

Channel 1. (DMX Type) SMOKE
____Preset 1____Smoke Off (000-000) set to default!
____Preset 2____Smoke (001-255)

Channel 2. (DMX Type) SMOKE
____Preset 1____Smoke Fan (000-255) set the DMX value to "0"
