This is an open source mac app, which takes a MIDI clock signal and converts it to Ableton Link

Anyone care to report back on this please?
I would be much happier if Wolfmix would accept MIDI as input for the BPM rate straight from my DJ laptop instead of going through some third party apps.
Why would you want to use MIDI clock? There is no PHASE INFORMATION. What would be the point of the light show, if Wolfmix can't know when the 1st beat of each bar is?
You would also need to use a USB to MIDI interface to make all of this happen, meaning more cables and more faff.
I've done it before with Traktor and Soundswitch. It's just not very intelligent.

As long as Traktor does not offer an Ableton Link that follows the BPM of the Master track deck, there should be another solution.

Also the solution on GITHUb does not carry phase information, since it is based on MIDI as well, or?

Since I found the mic (at least on the W1 I had borrowed) not working reliably, I will need a cable connection anyway. So it could be either an audio connection (which does not have Phase connection by default and can also be tricky to interpret on the beat) or an USB-connection. MIDI is here the most reliable format, even though it has its limitations. Time tested so to speak.

If you're happy with your lightshow not being in Phase from time to time, then that's the trade off you'll have. Personally I would switch to Serato or ditch software all together.

However, until Wolfmix fix the bug I identified above, then both methods are going to give mixed results.

An application already uses the selected port.
Please choose another port in the 'settings' tab.

I have a trouble with Apple Macbook 14" M1 OSX Ventura 13,2 / Wolfmix Wtool / Virtual DJ is already ok

Hey mate,

I found another solution!!!

https://audiob.us/

Audiobus is an iOS app, which can take in MIDI Sync as MASTER and use Ableton Link as SLAVE. I tested this on the weekend using a WIDI Master bluetooth module and an old iPhone, but it was quite buggy. The Audiobus manual says not to use bluetooth for MIDI sync, due to the connection being very unreliable.

You will need a MIDI to USB interface which is supported by iOS.

I've identified this as a good option, I think it was only released in the past couple of months. It has USB-C for newer iPhones/iPads.
I'll let you know how I get on once I've ordered it, but it definitely definitely works.

If you manage to have a go before me, then let me know here!
