Wolfmix Fixture Builder: Bugged??

Post by Level Up »

Hello, i have a problem with the WOLFMIX FIXTURE BUILDER and maybe a bug on this tool. Just to let you know i dont know how to use the website to do fixture so i learned the fixture builder inside the wolfmix but i think there is 2 bugs:

1) GOBO: i have placed 7 gobo inside the fixture but when i use the GOBO button only 1-5 works while the 6-10 are all bugged with round circle gobo

2) per instruction:

● BLACKOUT: Turns off all dimmers and closes all shutters.

but in the fixture i set up channel 8 (CH8) that is the DIMMER. when i press the blackout button the fixture doesn't turn off the light (the channel 8 is right.. in TEST ADDRESS by turning the knob the light is raised and lowered correctly.

Hi There

Thanks for checking out the Builder.
1) GOBO: i have placed 7 gobo inside the fixture but when i use the GOBO button only 1-5 works while the 6-10 are all bugged with round circle gobo
Wolfmix tries to match the first 5 gobo slots to common shapes. For example, circle in slot 1, dots in slot 2 etc...However it seems a lot of people find this confusing, so I might remove this from the next firmware version and just assign the first 10 gobos on the first wheel. You can shift + hit the gobo buttons to modify by the way. (same with color, position, live edit, preset...)
2) per instruction:
● BLACKOUT: Turns off all dimmers and closes all shutters.
In fact Blackout will close the shutter if the light has one, and will adapt the dimmer if the light doesn't have a shutter. This is to help save lamp life for older fixtures with halogen lamps. Is this a problem? The result should be the same - no light beam.

1) for the first thing yes its confusing.. i supposed that the gobo(s) i config from the list is then placed into the gobo list.
2) nope.. i opened a ticket for this problem (ticket 37474) and here is the PDF

https://storage.googleapis.com/nicolaud ... 261600.pdf

as u can see this fixture doesnt have a shutter but has in CH8 the dimmer light 0-255 with 0 that turn off the lamp
pressing the blackout button doesnt turn off the lamp keeping it at 100% power
btw the dimmer works because in HOME if i turn down the light intensity using the knob the light dimmer works. i thinks this means that the blackout button doesnt work on dimmers up to now but only on shutter...

can u investigate this? :) thanks

Hi Edoardo

Regarding the problem with the gobos, shift + hit a gobo button to edit it. I will change the way this works in the next firmware update (as we spoke on the forum).

Regarding the problem with the dimmer. This is happening because the profile has shutter open and closed presets, so it thinks it has a shutter to block off the light. You can fix this by removing the shutter open and closed options. Tap the options and hit the 2nd encoder to reset them (see attached screenshot). I'm going to add a 'strobe off' button on this screen in the next update which can be used in future.

Let me know if you have any further questions on this.

Any day now...I'm just finishing a final task which is proving to be a bit tricky....(setting custom positions on the position sequencer and having the ability to control phasing and fading of the sequenced effect!)
